Well, I’ve been a little lackadaisical in posting to my Blog and I have no real excuse, as although I’ve broken my ribs, they’re not actually attached to my fingers or brain and are therefore not involved in the writing process at all!
However, I am delighted to report that the fourth full length novel in the Harry Briscombe series is nearing completion and should be ready for release later this year. A little teaser for you …
A young lad recently released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit, swears to himself … Never Again.
Then the woman he works for is murdered.
Now he’s become the number one suspect and the gang he used to be involved with give him a stark choice that could see him going back to prison for a very long time.
When DI Harry Briscombe is called out to the suspicious death of a blind woman whose husband was killed in a car crash five years previously, all fingers point to one suspect – the young lad convicted of driving the other car, recently released from prison.
But when a second, related, murder occurs Harry begins to suspect that things aren’t as straight forward as they seem and the deeper he digs, the more he is forced to widen his net, trying to separate the truth from the lies. Then a young teenage girl goes missing, and suddenly Harry knows that the action he takes now, could be the difference between a life saved or lost.
I’m working hard on the edits at the moment, after which it will go off to a professional editor which will inevitably mean more work. But that’s the fun part for me … making simple tweaks that turn my book into the best story it can be.
After that, there will just be the cover design to approve … but that’s another story. Or newsletter!
Happy Reading!
Carolyn
